7th Pay Commission: The festive season has begun and in this environment, crores of central government employees are waiting for increase in Dearness Allowance i.e. DA. If we look at the pattern of the last few years, the central government announces a hike in DA till Dussehra. This time also there is a possibility.
How much increase is expected?
DA is expected to increase by 3 percent for the second half of the year. After this increase, employees will get 45 percent DA. Similarly, dearness relief or DR of pensioners is also expected to increase by 3 percent. Let us tell you that Dearness Allowance for industrial workers announced by the Labor Bureau is determined every month on the basis of the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW).
You will get 3 months arrears
If government increases DA till Dussehra then central employees will also get 3 months arrears. In fact, this year the festival of Vijayadashami or Dussehra is being celebrated on October 24. The new increase will be effective from July 1, 2023, so the DA for July, August and September will be due. If we look at the previous pattern, the central government will also pay this DA arrears along with the October salary hike.
This means that the increased salary that central employees will get in October will also include the arrears of July, August and September. Let us tell you that DA is increased twice a year as per the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission. The hike will be implemented on half-yearly basis.
