Stock market today: Stocks rise for 8th consecutive day, Nifty at new all-time high

STOCK MARKET UPDATES: Stock markets were up for the eighth consecutive day in early trading on Tuesday. At the same time, Nifty touched its new all-time high. Domestic stock markets strengthened due to strong trend in global markets and inflow of money into the market by foreign institutional investors.

Today BSE’s 30-share flagship index Sensex rose 412.02 points to 67,539.10 in early trade. While NSE’s Nifty rose 114 points to hit an all-time high of 20,110.35.

These shares were among the top gainers and losers

Among Sensex stocks, Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, JSW Steel, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Axis Bank and Bharti Airtel were gainers while NTPC, Maruti, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Motors were losers.

The US market closed on a positive note on Monday

In other Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite, Japan’s Nikkei and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in gains while South Korea’s Kospi was in losses. American markets closed on Monday with a positive trend.

Foreign investors bought Indian stocks

Global oil benchmark Brent crude was up 0.39 percent at US $90.99 a barrel.According to stock exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) on Monday bought Rs. 1,473.09 crore worth of shares were purchased.
